"Updates and Guilty Pleasures"

While the girls and I enjoy some time off, here's a quick update on the next couple of weeks. We're in the process of readying a Blogette store with some requested items and are taking advantage of our break from the trail to update our website and server. We've received a fantastic invitation from People Magazine to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner hosted by Craig Ferguson in Washington, D.C. on April 26th and look forward to blogging about this fun black-tie event. Until then, I'll be at home indulging in a few of my favorite guilty pleasures including, sleeping in my own bed; hanging out with Bridget; watching "The Three Stooges" (an obsession of mine since childhood); eating fish tacos; drinking strawberry margaritas; playing "Rock and Roll Jeopardy"; and taking in beautiful Arizona sunsets.

P.S. I have also found a new guilty pleasure in MTV's "Rock The Cradle", reality show featuring kids of famous rock stars in a singing competition. I'm rooting for Jesse Snider (son of the great Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider). Everyone should check it out!

The retreat left a crucial stretch of road on the front lines undefended for hours and led to a tense series of exchanges between American soldiers and about 50 Iraqi troops who were fleeing.

Capt. Logan Veath, a company commander in the 25th Infantry Division, pleaded with the Iraqi major who was leading his troops away from the Sadr City fight, urging him to return to the front.

“If you turn around and go back up the street those soldiers will follow you,” Captain Veath said. “If you tuck tail and cowardly run away they will follow up that way, too.”

Captain Veath’s pleas failed, and senior American and Iraqi commanders mounted an urgent effort to regain the lost ground. An elite Iraqi unit was rushed in and with the support of the Americans began to fight its way north.

With each passing day, it is obvious that John McCain has NO CLUE, nor a heart, and has led a life that has him ignorant of day to day reality in the world most Americans live in. With that in mind, the time has come to give him one, let him in on some simple reality.

Most Americans are in trouble financially, find themselves in deep financial trouble, most of it of their own making. What causes their problems?

1. The war in Iraq.
2. Jobs lost to outsourcing.
3. Lower wages and lost jobs due to illegal aliens in our job sector.
4. Robber baron interest rates being charged by credit card companies and lenders.
5. Stagnant or depressed wages while prices for everything else goes up.

The mortgage/home lose crisis. Contrary to McCain's callous comments, most homeowners could afford the loans when they got them, it is the VERIABLE RATE interest that is causing them to go into foreclosure. Now, lets look at some other issues why many homeowners are in trouble.

1. Illegal aliens have moved into communities, living 20-30 to a house, and because our Federal Government has refused to do anything about illegal aliens, the property values in those neighborhoods depreciate. Further, because of all those people living in homes means for say 6, crime goes up as well, again driving the value of our homes down...tell me Mr. McCain, how many ILLEGAL ALIENS live in the homes around you and Cindy? Sure you might use them to cut your grass, but you would not want them living next to you, but think it is FINE FOR US?

2. Adjustable rate mortage interest rates go up by double and triple, homeowner loses home, bank sells it to an absentee landlord who rents it out to MORE ILLEGALS, futher dropping the property values of other homes in the community by tens of thousands of dollars. Downward spiral continues, more illegals come in offering to work at 1/3-1/2 the rate we as tax paying citizens earn, more American jobs lost to the 15-20 million illegal aliens while our Federal Government does NOTHING.

3. Illegal aliens living 20-30 to a house start sending their kids to the local schools, schools raise property taxes to keep up with the influx, more homeowners cannot afford their homes and either abandon them or lose them to the bank, and again more illegal aliens move in, further lowering prices. A once beautiful MIDDLECLASS neighborhood is starting to look LIKE A SLUM.

4. Now, even solvent homeowners have lost their equity, find themselves in an upside down mortgage through no fault of their own, contemplate WALKING AWAY as their once beautiful community and home is now a GHETTO inhabited mostly by illegal aliens, and ridden with crime.

The Economy-it is pretty simple, the government (that would be you) have eliminated or shipped overseas good paying jobs, replacing them with ever lower paying jobs, and continuing to let more and more legal and illegal aliens steal what few jobs are left in the name of cheap wages so that Corporate Profits can increase. In the meantime, prices have gone up and up (I paid $4.65 for a half gallon of milk Sunday) throughout our economy while our wages have remained STAGNANT, or worse declined, again because our Federal Government in the name of cheap wages has allowed illegal immigration to go unchecked.

Couple all this with a wrong war that is draining our economy to the tune of trillions of dollars, marry it to billions of dollars leaving America via remittances, and it is easy to see why we have no middleclass, understand why Americans are losing their homes...YET YOU MY FRIEND want to blame the individual, want to tell us as citizens our financial plight is our own...may I deliver to you a collective FUCK YOU McCain!

You want to suggest I get RETRAINED for the new economy, accept the reality that my job was either A) shipped overseas, or B) given to an illegal who is willing to work at half of what I used to make. How do you propose I go about getting that training Mr. McCain...by going FURTHER INTO DEBT with student loans...again, FUCK YOU McCain!

Let me give you a basic economic policy there Mr. McCain:

1. Get the hell out of Iraq...stuff your ideals about duty and honor up your ass and accept the reality that A) we cannot afford the war, and B) even if we could, we don't want to afford it, and have no intentions of killing our own economy while building up Irag's. Fuck Iraqi's, fuck Iraq, fuck the Middle East, it is time to concentrate on our own country, and our people. That's right Mr. McCain, WE ARE WILLING to WALK AWAY...let Iran, or Saudi Arabia, or Jordan have Iraq, let them settle their own disputes, fight amont themselves. We got our own issues that are far more important here at home, and you need to realize that...it is pretty pathetic when Iraq has a larger border patrol than America does, and it was paid for with our TAXES!

2. End the home mortage crisis by rolling back all home mortage interest rates to their original TEASER RATE that got the people their home loans to begin with. Next, take profit and banks out of the home mortgage business by making every American eligible for a first home loan mortgage through the government at 3.5-4 percent interest, with the profit from those mortgages used to pay back the Social Security Fund and make Medicare/Medicaid solvant. No citizenship, no government mortage, and no government loans for investment properties.

3. Use the troops returned home from Iraq to A) secure our Southern Border (that means the right to use DEADLY FORCE), begin gathering up and deporting all those here ILLEGALLY, imprisoning upper management of companies employing illegal aliens. Within months of this starting, most illegal aliens would SELF DEPORT because of A) fear, and B) their inability to find employment. This in turn would see out of work Americans re-employed at LIVING WAGES.

By the way, show you have some CLASS, and call for the Boycott of the Olympics in China...or would that hurt Budweisers Beer Sales?
4. When and if all Americans wanting employeement have been returned to the work force at a LIVABLE WAGE, we can look at creating a comprehensive immigration policy that brings people into America BASED ON OUR NEEDS, rather than just on corporate profits.

5. Put in, effective immediately, a 25 percent tariff on all Chinese and Taiwanese imports into America, with similiar tariffs to all other nations that have unfair trade advantages with America...use those tariffs to begin paying down the National Debt.

6. Implement a nationwide program to rebuild our public and manufacturing infrastructure.

We don't want your war, we don't want ILLEGAL ALIENS, and we don't want your laws that infringe on our civil liberties including the Patriot Act, and laws that restrict a woman's right to choose. Here is a clue...if you and the Federal Government do not MAKE THESE CHANGES, you are going to see America fighting its own second Civil War along class lines, and trust me MR. McCain, it will make your time in Vietnam seem like a cake walk.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Sen. John McCain called Saturday for a presidential campaign that is more like a respectful argument among friends than a bitter clash of enemies, and said he is better able than either of his Democratic rivals to govern across party lines.

"We have nothing to fear from each other," the Arizona senator said as he wrapped up a weeklong trip designed to broaden his appeal beyond the voters who cast ballots in last winter's Republican primaries.
"We are arguing over the means to better secure our freedom, promote the general welfare and defend our ideals."

After a series of stops earlier in the week that emphasized his military service, McCain spoke on the steps of the Yavapai County Courthouse. The late Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona, the father of the modern conservative Republican party, launched his Senate campaigns as well as his 1964 bid for the White House from the same spot overlooking the town square of what was once the state's territorial capital.

McCain looked out at his largest crowd of the week as he recalled his early lessons in political bipartisanship. He described Goldwater and the late Arizona Rep. Mo Udall, a liberal Democrat, as close friends despite many political disagreements.

McCain recalled also that shortly after his own election to Congress in 1982, Udall took him under his wing. "I intend to wage this campaign and to govern this country in a way that they would be proud of me," he said of Goldwater and Udall.

And yet, he said, there are important differences to be settled in the fall on issues such as energy, the housing crisis, health care, the struggle with terrorists, and Medicare and other federal spending programs.

"It is more than appropriate, it is necessary that even in times of crisis, we fight among ourselves for the things we believe in," McCain said. "It is not just our right, but our civic and moral obligation."

"Let us exercise our responsibilities as free people. But let us remember we are not enemies," he added.

In three months some 200,000 plus LEGAL CITIZENS of this nation have lost their jobs while scab illegal alien laborers continue to collect our paychecks, depress our wages...where is John McCain on the issue? He wants to provide a pathway to citizenship for this scab labor, wants America's lower and middleclass wages to remain depressed due to illegals in our work force.

Dwight D. Eisenhowser in the 50's dealt swiftly with the illegal alien crisis in America, and we need a leader who will do the same in the year 2008. The time has come to seek prison sentences for any company, large or small who employees a illegal alien, the time has come for the border patrol and INS to do their jobs, and for our Federal Government to halt ALL FEDERAL FUNDING to any and all Safe Haven communities, such as San Francisco and New York.

A large part of America's Economic Recession can be laid squarely at the feet of this illegal work force, at our elected officials refusal to deal harshly with illegal aliens and those who employ or house them, including the Catholic Church. BAGHDAD — More than 1,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen either refused to fight or simply abandoned their posts during the inconclusive assault against Shiite militias in Basra last week, a senior Iraqi government official said Thursday. Iraqi military officials said the group included dozens of officers, including at least two senior field commanders in the battle.

The desertions in the heat of a major battle cast fresh doubt on the effectiveness of the American-trained Iraqi security forces. The White House has conditioned further withdrawals of American troops on the readiness of the Iraqi military and police.

The crisis created by the desertions and other problems with the Basra operation was serious enough that Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki hastily began funneling some 10,000 recruits from local Shiite tribes into his armed forces. That move has already generated anger among Sunni tribesmen whom Mr. Maliki has been much less eager to recruit despite their cooperation with the government in its fight against Sunni insurgents and criminal gangs.

What I found sad, and very frustrating about McCain's visit there, is the blind eye he turned towards this town's real economic woes, the same woes said town exhibited during my own time there some 30 plus years ago. So many stories, so little time.

Sen. John McCain spoke Wednesday morning at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., the third day of his weeklong tour. True to form, Washington Wire is here to provide inquiring minds with a juicy tale that didn’t make the day’s speech.

McCain’s time at the Naval Academy provide an overwhelming patch from which to pick. He refused to accept the brutal hazing of his first year quietly and had a reputation for being sloppy and rowdy throughout his tenure.

But the best story by far begins in the summer of 1957, when McCain sailed to Rio de Janeiro aboard a destroyer. In his 1999 memoir, “Faith of My Fathers,” McCain wrote about “excessive drinking, nightclubbing and little or no sleep” and said, “My imagination could not have embellished the good time we made of our nine days in port.”

Exhausted from his full-throttle social life, McCain nonetheless rallied to attend one last party. On that fateful night, he met a Brazilian model. (Alas, her name is withheld in several retellings.) A few days after the pair met, McCain had to set sail again—but the moment he returned home, he repacked his bag and jumped aboard a military plane back to Rio. They kept up a furious correspondence through the fall.

While McCain’s recounting of their whirlwind courtship is entertaining (“I kissed her to a chorus of rowdy cheers from my shipmates,” he writes) a far more salacious version appears in Robert Timberg’s “John McCain: An American Odyssey.”

During Christmas leave, Timberg writes, McCain traveled back to Brazil for a four-day visit. However, the pair was always accompanied by the wealthy model’s aunt or servant—until the last night of his visit.

McCain went to the model’s house for dinner but found the door unlocked. He let himself in and heard a voice call from the bedroom, “I’ll be right out.” When the model appeared, “she was not, McCain would later say, dressed for dinner,” Timberg wrote.

After that night, he never saw her again. Upon graduating from the Naval Academy, however, he received a short telegram from the model that read, “I’ll always love you.”

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Fighting between security forces and Shi'ite militiamen last month has driven civilian deaths in Iraq to their highest level in more than six months, government figures showed on Tuesday.

Britain responded to renewed violence in the southern city of Basra by delaying plans to bring home 1,500 of its 4,000 troops in Iraq.

A total of 923 civilians were killed in March, up 31 percent from February and the deadliest month since August 2007, according to data compiled by Iraq's interior, defense and health ministries and obtained by Reuters.

The figures are a blow to the Iraqi government and the United States, which have pointed to reduced overall levels of violence in recent months as evidence that a major security offensive has made significant progress.

Two news items over on the BCC site caught my attention. One reason for this, is the lack of any real overage here in America as the Iraq war seems to have fallen off the media network radar as the wrong war drags on, and the death toll on all sides mounts. The second reason these two articles caught my eye, is it gives credence to the BUZZ that George W. Bush will invade Iran, or take some time of military action against them before the fall elections. Such a tactic would burnish Senator McCain's claim that we need a WAR TIME President in office during these troubling times...after all, if we open up a new front with Iran, Israel as our partner, we all know that "All Hell" is going to break loose.

Sure some will howl at me bringing up General Betrayus again, but what else would you call a man that refuses to tell the whole truth, seems to now be contributing to George W. Bush's beating of the war drums against Iran. Cut our loses and bring our troops home before War Hawks like McCain and Bush trash the American Economy and throw us into a second Depression.

Iran 'behind Green Zone attack'

Gen Petraeus said he was surprised how Sunnis turned against al-Qaeda

The most senior US general in Iraq has said he has evidence that Iran was behind Sunday's bombardment of Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone.

Gen David Petraeus told the BBC he thought Tehran had trained, equipped and funded insurgents who fired the barrage of mortars and rockets.

He said Iran was adding what he described as "lethal accelerants" to a very combustible mix.

There has as yet been no response from Iran to the accusations.

US Vice-President Dick Cheney has said Palestinian militant group Hamas, along with Iran and Syria, is trying to torpedo the Middle East peace process.

Mr Cheney made the remarks after breakfast with Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, as he ended a tour of the Middle East.

He met Palestinian leaders on Sunday, saying both sides needed to make painful concessions to achieve peace.

A Palestinian state was long overdue, he said, but militant rocket attacks against Israel jeopardised this.

"There is evidence that Hamas is supported by Iran and Syria and they are doing everything they can to torpedo the peace process," Mr Cheney said.

Just in from CNN...a bomb has claimed the lives of four American soldiers, bringing the death toll in President Bush's wrong sighted Iraq War to 4,000. More details as they become available. There is a bittersweet justice in the number 4,000 being reached on Easter...this blog asks all readers to pray for those troops that are wrongfully being kept in harms way in Iraq.

Financial Woes seem to be a McCain campaign trademark despite his shrew of a wife's monsterous personal wealth. Perhaps the man needs to take it as a clue. On Saint Patrick's Day a Pro-McCain group announced and ambitious goal of getting one million people to each donate ten dollars to the Unite McCain Campaign. If their first week's fund raising efforts are any example, it is going to be a very long General Election for John McCain and his supporters as you can see from the graft posted on their site, and shared here for your amusement. Maybe Cindy McCain can start holding some bake sales for her hubby the couch potato. Meanwhile, in fast breaking news from the piglettes, seems that the blobbettes have suffered a change of plans...does this mean their trip to Bahran has been put on hold because too many people asked to many questions about who was PAYING FOR THAT TRIP? In the mean time, seems that Meghan is going to be hitting the campaign trail with Daddy next week...wonder if Porky Pig is a McCain voter?

McBlob Shares Thoughts On Her Saintly Mother

She obviously got her Dad's butt.

As many of you may, or may not know, Meghan McCain and the Blobbettes are journaling her father's (John McSame) campaign for the Presidency. In one of her entries this week, she posted up her top ten things we may not know about her mother...apparently she assumes we live under rocks. Anyway, thought we would share her comments here on the McSame blog with some added commentary of our own where appropriate.

About My Mom:

1. She was named "rodeo queen" in high school. Back in the day, rodeos were a big thing in Arizona and Mom was named the rodeo queen when she was 16. The pictures are so funny – she's wearing a cowboy hat with a crown!

First, we know about this Meghan. Perhaps that explains her bowlegged stance and penchant for having an affair with a married man? Where I come from, we call loose legged women sleeping with married men sluts. You do know she was boinking your father while he was married to another woman don't you? Just checking.

2. She always taught me to be true to myself. Growing up in politics, it would be easy to think of your parents forcing you to act, talk, and look a certain way. But whether it was me putting pink streaks in my hair when I was 14 or deciding to go to Columbia instead of USC (her alma mater) for college, Mom always let me make my own decisions (and mistakes) and it has made me who I am today.

So, your mother made you a self centered over weight young woman that cannot write a blog without the help of two staff members? Clarifying here you understand, trying to keep the record straight.

3. She's a huge Cream fan and went to their reunion concert in London two years ago.

How does this fit with your father's favorite song, "Bomb Bomb Iran"? Further, sharing the fact that she flew off to London to catch the reunion concert shows just how out of touch your Mother and family are with the average middleclass American. We are RICH, FILTHY RICH, so we can do things like this.

4. Her favorite snacks are Cheetos and salt and vinegar potato chips.

Maybe those vinegar potato chips explain that hawkish, nasty bitchy look she wears on a normal basis?

5. She likes to watch nature programs and "The Animal Planet" on TV. (I think she's slightly obsessed with Jeff Corwin.)

Curious here, does your mother own any fur coats? Sure the folks at PETA would love to know.

6. She spoils our dogs silly. We have two Yorkshire terriers named Desi and Lucy. We also have two other dogs named Sam and Coco who are a springer spaniel and a mix. She spoils them with lots of treats and affection.

WOW, four dogs! Curious here who takes care of these dogs while you all are out on the campaign trail, and at what cost? Your mother looks like a shrew, so doubt any of us are going to buy your attempts to humanize her.

7. She also loves fish. I grew up with salt water tanks all over our house and bowls of goldfish in the kitchen.

Tropical fish to good for her?

8. She has been doing work with charities such as HALO and Operation Smile ever since I can remember. When I was little, I used to imagine her running into people like "Indiana Jones" along the way. To this day, when I see an old movie poster of Harrison Ford as "Indiana Jones", it reminds me of Mom.

We know all about her CHARITY WORK...how addicted to drugs was she by the way, and just how much stealing did she do from the charity she founded. Don't suppose she is prepared to share the CRIMINAL RECORDS when she as a rich woman, and wife of a Senator had her crimes washed away, while many others guilty of far less criminal activity are rotting in America's prisons would she? Affairs, drug addictions, stealing drugs and illegal international transit of illicit drugs...GEE, your mother sounds like QUITE THE WOMAN.

9. She can tell if a beer is fresh or not, depending on the taste.

Does this mean we can add alcoholic to her list of accomplishments?

10. The song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is our special "mother/daughter song". It always makes me think of her and our family's affinity for scuba diving and the ocean.

THAT IS JUST SO PRECIOUS-NOT...pity her tank did not run out of air. At least then we would not have to suffer her acute need to seek out revenge...anyone who keeps a revenge list really needs to seek out some counseling.

McCain's Week Of Looking Presidential Big Failure

McCain's week of looking Presidential was a dismal failure from start to finish. At every step of the way he said the wrong thing, or did not go far enough. Some of his low lights include:

1. Flying into Iraq right on the Five Year Anniversary was in poor taste. Having Cheney arrive while he was there even worse.

2. His now infamous Shite/Sunni/Iran gaffe while in Jordan.

3. Holding a fund raiser at the Spencer House in London on what was supposed to be an OFFICIAL TRIP...yeah right.

4. Bringing up Tibet, but failing to call for a boycott of the Olympics in China.

5. Again defending his Bomb Bomb Iran song. But then, this is the man that calls Vietnamese Gooks. Ranks right up there with Obama defending Wright's hate speech because that is how Black people talk when we get together.

Meanwhile, for those wanting an update on McCain's feeble attempts to look Presidential, he has arrived in London, and will start work immediately on his Friday fundraiser, taking a break tomorrow just long enough to meet with the Prime Minister so that he can bill the taxpayers for his, Lieberman and Graham's travel expenses. His campaign still has no comment on who is paying for this weeks trip by Chris McCain and the Blobettes.

So Much For Presidential, Lieberman Corrects McCain Gaffe

Seems that McGrandpa McCain either through an onset of senility, or just plain ignorance made a serious Gaffe today while speaking in Jordan in his I Am Presidential World Tour.

The significant misstep occurred during a news conference in Jordan earlier Tuesday, when the presumptive Republican presidential nominee McCain repeatedly said Iran was supplying al Qaeda. Iran is predominately a Shiite country would not be aiding the Sunni dominated Al-Qaeda. OOPS!

McCain corrected himself after Sen. Joe Lieberman whispered in his ear.

"I'm sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al Qaeda. I am sorry, I am sorry," the Arizona senator said.

Rumor has it, that exiting the stage he whispered to Lieberman, "Shite, Sunni, what's the difference, they're all terrorists to me? Question is, did Lieberman's quick thinking move him one step closer, or one step further away from McCain?

New Poll Spells Serious Trouble For McCain

Despite the raging war going on in the Democratic Party, a newly released poll shows a statistical dead heat when Clinton or Obama is matched up against John McCain. The pool which has a plus or minus factor of 3 shows Obama beating McCain by 1 percent in the poll, while Hillary Clinton beats him by 3 percent. This poll shows that McCain is in serious trouble. His MAJOR gaffe in Jordan today should see his numbers tumbling further at a time when he should be attempting to build a lead.

72 Civilians, 2 American Soldiers Dead As McCain Looks Presidential

Baghdad...As Bush and Cheney's overlapping visits wound down, seemed only appropriate to report the day's death tolls in the war both claim is going well, as McCain trys to look Presidential.

In a stunningly bitter attack, a female suicide bomber blew herself up, killing 43 Shiite worshippers in the holy city of Karbala on Monday, as McCain was taking advantage of a photo op with various assorted Iraq Government Officials...Cheney was resting. The attack left pools of blood on the street leading to one of Iraq's most revered mosques. McCain refused an offer to walk the streets even with a bullet proof vest and a massive security force flanking his side, even with the addition of six Black Hawks.

The suicide attack was the deadliest in a series of bloody attacks that left at least 72 Iraqi citizens dead on one day of McCain's visit, and many more injured. The deaths included six youths killed when mortar rounds slammed into a soccer field in eastern Baghdad outside the green zone.

In a bittersweet irony for the two aging War Hawks, two U.S. soldiers were killed Monday in a separate roadside bombing north of Baghdad. This brings the American military death toll close to 4,000 as the U.S. led war enters its sixth year, and McCain prepares for his Friday fund raiser in London at the Spencer House.

The White House wouldn’t give any details on Cheney’s trip except to say that he was there in an effort to build political unity in the country. Does anyone else find it ironic that an administration which has thrived on political division and secrecy, now finds itself in the position of having to unify Iraq? Cheney is expected to make stops throughout Iraq. He will meet with Prime Minister al-Maliki, U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker, and General Petraeus. Crocker and Petraeus will be back in Washington, D.C. next month to deliver another status report on the war to Congress.

McCain Having Trouble Getting Americans To Donate Goes To London

As we all know, John McCain landed in Iraq today in his quest to look Presidential. He justifies American Tax Payers picking up the tab on the grounds he wants to get a close up look at the situation in Iraq. That does not EXPLAIN his other stops, such as England...if this trip is not a campaign event that should be paid for with campaign funds, how does he explain his FUND RAISING event in London? No conflict of interest there McCain?

The Trans-Atlantic fund raising event, this Senatorial necessity will be held at the 18th Century Spencer House (think Princess Di) at the bargain lunch time price of $1,000 per plate...does that mean Meghan has to pay twice?

Meanwhile, McCain insists that his trip with long time stall buddies Graham and LIEberman is official Armed Services Committee business explaining that congress will be reimbursed for any expenses associated with the fund raiser. To keep those expenses down, McCain has coonveniently scheduled a meeting with Brittain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown...that's how operatives MILK THE SYSTEM.

Spencer House, at 27 St. James’s Place, was built from 1756 to 1766 and is a short distance from Buckingham Palace.

The Iraq Truth McCain Will Not Speak-Five Years Later

Five Years Later-Was Iraq War Worth It?

Rather ironic that two high priests of the Church of Bush chose to set foot in Iranian soil today as that nation marks five years of war, five years of American occupation.

We all support the troops, yet this weekend as America celebrates the five year anniversary of the Iraq War, the milestone is hardly mentioned in the press here in America, more attention paid to McCain touching foot in Iraq than we are seeing given to this somber anniversary. A PEW poll released earlier this week found that 40 percent of Americans were unsure, did not know how many American troops had died in the war…for those wondering, we will soon reach the 4,000 number.

Taking exception to McCain’s rosy predictions where Iraq is concerned, I point out the obvious that he does not want to discuss.

1. Iraq is in the throes of civil war, the nation suffering from great political and military strife and uncertainty.

2. Despite claims that the SURGE is working, violence is rampant in Iraq, with the death toll of Irag citizens conservatively estimated to be over 89,000.

3. Life for women in Iraq has gotten far worse since the American invasion, many women having no choice but to turn to prostitution to survive, risking death if they are caught.

4. Unemployment and poverty rates are escalating.

Contrary to the false words of George W. Bush, no weapons of Mass Destruction have been found, no ties found to exist between Saddam Hussein and Al-Quida. Senator McCain would have us believe we are winning; have us keep our troops in Iraq, if necessary for another 100 years. Setting aside politics, setting aside party platforms and doctrine, was the Invasion of Iraq worth it?

McCain Spending Our Tax Dollars Lands in Iraq

So, McCain has set foot in Iraq, is off looking presidential in Iraq compliments of our tax dollars. Serious want to know how he calls himself the Sheriff of Pork Barrel will slamming us with the tab for this trip. While we are on the subject, if you listen to McCain on the subject of Pork, he always says he never has asked for pork for his HOME STATE...OK, how come the news reporters never ask him about pork for other states?

McCain Lands in Iraq, Lieberman by His Side

Senator McCain arrived in Baghdad today with his lap dog, Senator Joseph Lieberman, on an extravagant road trip compliments of the US tax payers. He justifies the trip at our expense on the grounds he believes the Armed Services Committee needs a close up look at Iraq before Gen. David Petraeus returns to testify before Congress next month. Despite his staffs enthusiastic admission that this trip gives McCain a chance to look PRESIDENTIAL, McCain brushes aside charges that he is using American tax dollars to make a campaign trip.

Let’s say you support McCain, want to believe his trip to Bahgdad is all about Senate business. Here is the rub…the stop over in Iraq is only the first of a series of stops planned, the other stops conveniently arranged to visit some of the entourages FAVORITE spots in the world. The three senators will visit Jordan, make a stop over in Israel, then fly into Great Britain and finish their tax payer world junket by visiting France.

Meanwhile, McCain’s former drug addict wife is taking daughter Meghan and her girlfriends off on a Presidential Looking Trip of their own…no comment from the McCain staff on who is picking up the tab on that travel itenerary.

McCain's Trip To Look Presidential-Who is Paying For Daughter and Friends Expenses?

So McCain is embarking on a trip to the Middle East to make himself look PRESIDENTIAL. That trip is being paid for by "we the taxpayers". He justifies it by claiming he wishes other figures in Washington would do more travel around the world so they could be more informed. Now, it seems that Chris his HAWKY looking wife with her beady eyes is also going to be taking a trip, and in tow will be the Blobettes (Meghan, photographer Heather Brand and producer Shannon Bae). Ignoring the oddity of a person needing a staff to maintain a poorly presented Blog, and getting to the weighty question of the day, who is picking up the tab for these three 20 somethings to travel halfway around the world to TOUR A CHARITY her mother is a board member of? Is War Hawk McCain Running For President To Get Sons Out of Harms Way?

John McCain talks a good game, is the ultimate war horse, a pro-pentagon War Hawk far more bent on destruction than even George W. Bush...as example his campaign remark wherein he is fine if our troops are deployed in Iraq for the next 100 years. If McCain were to become the next President, seems he could have his sons (two are in the military) kept out of harms way, out of the war theatre because they would become SUPER TARGETS. Under the argument that his sons would be high value targets if he were the President, as Commander and Chief, McCain could keep your loved ones in Iraq for 100 years while he sees his own children getting desk jobs out of harms way. Pie in the sky smear?...perhaps not, since the Marines have refused to discuss what special steps they took while Senator McCain's son was in Iraq. Raises the question, are they Marines in name only, getting special treatment other troops would never get, recieving assignments that keep them out of any real danger? It's time the Marines come clean, and McCain answers some questions about any involvements he has had in his sons marching orders.

Cruising the political blog world this morning, came across an article reporting that Daddy McCain's little princess is on the Presidential Campaign payroll...isn't that convenient and more than a bit hypocritical? Seems that Mehgan has admitted to being more than a bit LIBERAL...seems to run in the family.

Intriqued, started snooping around and found Mehgan's blog...a not very impressive little place for her and her friends. Reminded me of the old "Welcome Back Kotter" show and the sweat hogs. Seems that McSpoiled Meghan is just a bit touchy about her somewhat fluffy frame. So touchy in fact that she dedicated a whole post on her blog to her ANGER at other people making remarks about her thick stature...hey kiddo, you jumped into the ring with Pappa, so get used to it. She trots out the old "Inner Beauty", going on to say she is proud of her curves...I can buy that, but if she is SO PROUD of her curves, why does she wear so many outfits that look like potato sacks? So Mehgan, since a number on the scale is not important, why not share how much you weigh with the readers?

John Steward claimed McCain’s Straight Talk Express was rerouted through Bull Shit Town when Senator John McCain decided to make a stop at Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University when six years before he had called both Falwell and Pat Robertson “agents of intolerance”. Guess a desperate need for the conservative evangelical vote changes a man?

As reported in this blog yesterday, John McCain’s latest skunk deal saw a multi-billion-dollar air tanker deal to a European company (EADS), seeing no problem with putting 40,000 Americans out of work, and shipping our National Security Technology overseas. To take care of his BUDDIES seems McCain used his contacts in the Pentagon to rig the process, change the bidding process to disadvantage Boeing. (This fact reported in Time Magazine which says, “And some of his top advisers have out and out lobbied for the award to EADS/Airbus--one of them while serving as McCain's national finance chairman. [Time magazine, 3/11/08]”

Bush Operative Deals With McCain Boeing Debacle

Any news eating couch potato knows about the Refueling Tanker Contract disaster, knows that McCain played a KEY ROLE in seeing the contract awarded to the French, our close allies who were no shows in Iraq and Afghanistan. Well, the McCain team is striking back with a nice little propaganda piece addressed to Interested Parties (that would be all Americans).

The teary eyed piece of pablum was written by one Steve Schmidt...AKA, a top Bush and Company talent who helped orchestrate Bush's win to a second term in the White House. Seems he is another one of those Bush Doctrine transplants steering Bush's McCain Straight Talk Express. Seems Schmidt was signed on to the campaign as a Senior Advisor.

Schmidt glosses over some key points of interest in his attempts to cloud the issue and get the heat off his new boss.

1. McCain's interference in the process has cost America some 40,000 good paying jobs.

2. McCain has no problems with a key component of our National Security and Defense and the strategic technology being given to a foreign company.

His first tact in his fairytale interpretation is that McCain was/is trying to be fiscally responsible, save Americans their tax dollars. The amount of supposed savings is around $8 Billion dollars...sounds like a lot of money. So, consider this. For every dollar you put into the economy (The contract could be worth over half a trillion dollars) you create six more dollars as that money is reinvested into the economy. Simply stated, that contract let to an American company would have created 40,000 AMERICAN jobs, and created an influx to our American economy of around $3 Trillion dollars.

Perhaps this is a perfect example of McCain's ignorance of basic economic principles. You give away to the French $3 Trillion dollars in economic stimulus to save $8 Billion dollars in American Tax Dollars...has this man been spending to much time with George W. Bush?

The rest of the letter is similiar inane drivel, strawman arguements intended to shift your focus away from John McCain and his stupidity.

Saddam’s Iraq Report Benched Due To Politics

Seems that the White House does not want we Americans to have EASY ACCESS to the Pentagon Report on Saddam’s Iraq. The report admits freely that no connections were found between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda, and Bush’s Administration thinks have that information and the report widely available to Americans is simply TO POLITICALLY DEVISIVE and has ordered the Pentagon not to post the report online in any manner.

The document was supposed to be available on the Joint Forces Command web site this afternoon. Soon after it was made available, the authors of the report were to have conducted a press briefing…that too was cancelled. Further, the Pentagon has announced that the report WILL NOT EVEN BE EMAILED to reporters…you can though request a CD copy of the report that will be sent out via first class mail at a date and time convenient to the Pentagon (Like after the fall elections).

When asked about their decision, low level scapegoats at the Pentagon would only say, “initial press reports on the study made it "too politically sensitive.” The study found no "smoking gun" or any evidence of a direct connection between Saddam's Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist organization.

John McCain staffers had no comment on the Presidents decision, but rumors have it that FTD delivered a large bouquet of flowers to the White House this evening with a thank you note from John McCain.

Is God Calling on Evangelicals To Elect A Democrat?

Pastor Jan Paulsen leads the 16 million member Seventh-day Adventist world church. In a recently published article (March issue of Adventist World) the pastor reiterates the church's long standing position held on non-combatancy. In the article, Clear Thinking About Military Service, this religious leader simply states that the decision to carry arms puts "the spiritual and moral foundations of your life in serious jeopardy." Another key passage from the article the pastor states, "the church must constantly reflect God's infinite, healing love."

The article raises, without actually stating it, "Is the Evangelical Christian Republican Base being called by God to back the Democratic Candidate for President?"

It is Jan Paulsen position, that because God values each human life, true Christians should never be involved in the taking of a life, even the life of our enemies. Looking at this statement, looking at the Republican Party's stance on abortion, their blind support of George W. Bush, their blind support of his War in Iraq would seem to put them at odds with their religion with their God. How can you support war, the needless killing of thousands of human beings yet claim yourself an Evangelical Christian?

McCain has made his position on war, on Iraq clear. He is fine with our troops dying in the desert sands for another 100 years, has no problems with the continued bloodshed in the Middle east in the name of United States interests. His positions, George W. Bush's doctrine seem to fly in the face of what true Christians are supposed to hold most sacred, the protection of and value of human life. If you carry arms, support others carrying them in your name, you are embracing and condoning the taking of human life. Paulsen writes about the Church's abandonment of CORE CHURCH VALUES regarding war:

"I have sensed, at times, a certain ambivalence toward our historic position, a sense, perhaps, that 'that was then, and this is now.' And yet I know of no reason why this should be so."

A commonly held truth in life is that you cannot serve two masters. You cannot claim to value human life, give any validity to your Pro Life position on abortion while at the same time beating the war drums and supporting Pro War politicians. Is God through Jan Paulsen calling on Evangelical Christians to set aside their red pompoms and vote for a candidate (Clinton or Obama) who want to bring our troops home sooner than later?

John McCain’s Money Beg Letter…Some Added Commentary

As a joke I made a contribution to George W. Bush a few years back to get my name printed in the Wall Street Journal. The various assorted perks included in that singular donation include getting almost every Republican fund raising letter shared with mankind. It seems appropriate to share one of the latest MONEY BEGS from John McCain with some added commentary…call it a truth in advertising addition to content.

My Friends, (John…I can call you John can’t I...Lose this terminology, it even offends people in your own party, especially the Conservatives. We are not your friends; your wife would not add our names to her social registry. Her Daddy is a convicted felon, but his money buys her social stature.)

Last week, I was humbled to win the support of 1,191 delegates and officially become the presumptive nominee of our party. (Stop lying, you were relieved that Huckabee finally stopped being a bug up your ass.) It was a great honor to also receive the endorsement of President Bush (John, we watched the press conference, you looked liked a rabid raccoon caught in a snare…it was obvious you were pissed that Bush would not let you get a word in edgewise.) and visit the Republican National Committee to begin laying out our strategy for victory in November. We face a tough challenge, but I’m confident that together we will win.

It’s been a long journey. (Guys, I need a break here, not as young as I used to be, so can some of you step up and carry the ball for a few weeks while I try to recharge my battery?) While I would like to sit back and reflect on what we’ve been through over these many months, there will be time for that later. Right now, beginning today, we must join together as a party. (Come on Conservatives, I know I am not your man, but would you rather see Clinton or Obama in the Oval Office…trust me, once I bring Bush’s team on board, you’ll swear George Bush won a third term in office.) We must unite as we face either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama in November. I ask that you join me today and make a financial commitment to help our campaign replenish our resources to achieve our goals. ( I raised $12 million dollars last month, and the two Democratic heavyweights brought in over $80 million! I need money, and LOTS of it…who wants to buy some favor?

Now we move into the second phase of this campaign. Together, we must convince the American people that our shared conservative principles and my election as president, are in the best interests of the country we love. (You want to over turn Roe verse Wade, you want another Roberts or Alito on the Supreme Court, you had best get behind me and start singing my praises. Our ability to legislate morality, to force our religious views on the rest of the nation depend on keeping Republicans in the White House.)

And this will be, without question, the toughest phase. (We Republicans are not very well liked right now, hell we even have problems in our own party with defections every day as our base registers as Independents.) From this moment forward, whomever the Democrats choose, we will face a candidate directly opposed to us on every important issue facing our nation. (Permanent tax cuts for the richest Americans, destroying the middleclass, our oil war in Iraq, and owning the Supreme Court.) The Democratic nominee will increase the size of the federal government, raise your taxes, and withdraw our armed forces from Iraq’s front lines based on an arbitrary timetable. My commitment will be to cut taxes (for the rich), reduce the size of government (by eliminating welfare, and privatizing Social Security) and bring the war to the swiftest possible conclusion (even if it takes me 100 years and invading Iran) without leaving the region in chaos, or an enemy emboldened to attack us elsewhere with weapons we dare not allow them to possess. (Iran will not be allowed to have a nuclear arsenal, but we will give them nuclear reactors if they will sign onto our GNEP initiative.)

As I’ve said many times, this election is about big things. (The North American Union and Amnesty for 15-22 Million illegal aliens.) And it will be the most expensive election battle in history. (Republican Propaganda carries a heavy financial cost.) The Democrats have demonstrated their ability to raise an astonishing amount of money for their campaign. (It scares the living hell out of me, and now the AFL-CIO is weighing in with a $53 Million dollar attack campaign against me.) Soon those resources will be focused on me. We must be ready. I am asking today to help replenish our resources and begin the long difficult march to victory by making a contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or even $1,000. (Forget about your own pain, put your own financial worries aside for a day, and think about the good of the party…I am sure we can compete financially if you go hungry for a few days, or skip your mortgage payment for a month. Be creative, commit your Economic Incentive check that Bush is sending you to our campaign.)

We have prepared for this fight for a long, long time. It begins today. We’ve come this far. Let’s go on to victory. (Preserving the George W. Bush doctrine depends on you digging deep, giving until it hurts.)

AFL- CIO Attack Will Crash McCain's Financial Boat

As the Clinton-Obama slugfest moves on towards Pennsylvania where the Democratic Party Nomination Title Fight will be won or lost McCain finds himself about to face the blistering heat and might of a $50 million dollar ad attack launched by the AFL-CIO on his economic policies or lack thereof. The $53 Million dollar anti-McCain campaign is a record advertising blitz by the largest union in America, and comes at a time when everyone agrees McCain's financial boat is not in order...countering the blistering attack may be impossible for McCain even with the RNC now fully (almost) behind his run for the Presidency.

In other disturbing McSame news, word on the street is that Mitt Romney's appearence on FOX with Hannity last night came after a push from White House insiders who are now fully supporting him as McCain's Vice Presidential choice. The further down the road the McSame Express goes, the more this is looking like a third Bush term in Office in all but name only.

In a ODD twist, also involving another Bush Administration connection, McCain last week got the support of America's Catholics...what is odd about it, is there is now ANOTHER KEATING involved in McCain's political career.

The Canadians who BEGGED OUT OF IRAQ have quickly weighed in on the President and John McCain’s endorsement of torture…in a Toronto Star story, “ Bush’s shameful legacy of torture” the paper is quick to rail against Bush’s penchant for pain, while ignoring McCain’s implicit endorsement of the policy.

Republicans in the House anxious to be the party of pain voted to uphold Bush’s veto of a bill that would have prohibited the CIA from torturing prisoners, using water boarding as a means of squeezing out false confessions. Meanwhile the UN has gone public with the fact that the US has refused to allow a United Nations torture inspector to visit American-run jails in Iraq. Bush afraid to take a black eye on the issue must feel it is not in McCain’s best interest to have a bunch of battered and beaten detainees suddenly appearing on the evening news.

Roll Call:

In all fairness, being fair and balanced, three Democrats sided with John McCain and the Republican party in being all for torture in the name of the Red, White and Blue: Waters (CA), Marshall (GA), Kucinich (OH).

Senator, John McCain had initially supported a ban, but when it came to a vote, he sided with the President in the hopes of winning over the Conservative Right Wing of the RNC.

In short, John McCain believes in the protection of a few cells, opposes a woman’s right to choice, but is absolutely fine with beating the living crap out of anyone that might potentially have a useful scrap of intelligence…travelers keep your wits about you at airport check points, you don’t want to find yourself being whisked off to some unknown destination in a torture friendly country under the guise of McCain’s Bush Doctrine. McSame-How Some of Us See Your World Through Our Electric Light Moon Glasses

Ride captain ride upon your mystery ship...one of thousands of song snippets that filter through my mind as memories collide one with another fighting for a stolen moment, once again to be in the limelight as part of a story shared, tales of youth being told around a campfire, or perhaps over beers as we wait our turn at the dart board. Oh to know what I know now and go back again and start all over...youth is wasted on the youth until the young grow old and look back on the remarkable lives we lived so many years before.

Free spirits, that's what we were, the original Indigo Kids before someone coined the term, Bohemians in training without a clue that we were in school. We knew we were different early on, sitting upstairs in the attic bedroom, black light posters of Santana and Hendrix lighting up the night, Janis wailing sullenly because our parents had gone out with friends; would not be back home until around one in the AM. Remember Uriah Heep, King Crimson's Court of the Crimson King, a nickel bag four fingers tall costing you five bucks, and a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry wine was a dollar ninety eight.

Midnight saw us leaving a note on the kitchen table telling Mom and Dad we'd gone over Johnny's house, we'd stop by his home on the way to the dam to leave a note saying he was at Tim's place so that no one would worry about where we'd gone. A Panasonic eight track, our music, party supplies and a dime with which to call home and we were ready to go, thinking nothing of the 12 mile bike ride that laid ahead.

The girls usually drove, would have a camp fire burning when we arrived, had the foresight to bring foodstuffs, and some towels for drying off after everyone went skinny dipping in the cold pool that had been dug over a hundred years down at the base of the dam.

The police knew we were there and left us alone knowing we weren't out to cause trouble were not hurting anyone with our small fire, in taking a swim. Occasionally they'd stop by to check up on us, their flashlights giving their presence away long before they arrived. We'd turn the music down, sometimes cover up and then wave as they came into sight.

"Everything all right?"

"Yes officer, just enjoying the stars, and taking a swim."

"You kids behave yourselves, we have to get back to our rounds."

"Good night officers."

Live and let live. They knew what we were doing, knew we had bottles of Boone's Farm that had been hastily pushed under the closest blanket, that our joints had been quickly hidden out of sight. We wrote poetry and talked about peace, love and cosmic revelations we'd had while listening to the Moody Blues while tripping on acid or coming down into mellow land as we took another Quaalude...how many remember 714's or Christmas Trees. The Dead Poets Society long before Robin Williams became a household name.

No one saw us as college material, though in certain subjects we all were at the top of our class. I took the SAT one Saturday morning while peaking, mesmerized at my perfectly sharpened fist full of brand new number two pencils, most of them less than 4 inches in length from a overnight sharpening vigil while listening to Helter Skelter and the rest of the White Album, smoking Blond Lebanese Hash provided by my friends...I know what you are thinking, but I ended up ranking in the upper five percentile nationwide.

Planet earth is through and there's nothing we can do...God, looking back it seems strange to realize we made that first Earth Day happen, created the Ecology flag, and now some 30 years later the world is just waking up to the reality of Global Warming. As the Moody Blues would say or was that Pink Floyd?... "Is there anybody out there, out there." We wore old faded blue jeans, patches sewn over patches, each one with a special meaning to those who were in the know. We were a world within a world, a perfect utopian dream breathed into life by a few souls who happened to believe there was a better way to make it in this world.

Tricky Dick ran for a second term, we tried to warn everyone to, "Just Say No". I still remember the campaign slogan our parents would wince at, "Don't change dicks in the middle of a screw, vote for Nixon in 72." We wanted to plug into the system, acted as volunteers for George McGovern, actually believing he had a chance. Watergate proved us right, but no one seemed to care. Perhaps that singular event changed us more than we could ever know, in McGovern's defeat, watching as Nixon resigned in shame disenfranchised us, made us in some ways the lost generation, the young Boomers that never quite figured out how to fit in and become a part of the system, figure out how to mainstream the ideas we'd had in our dreams.

It's odd all these years later to see mainstream journalists writing articles with titles like, "The Hippy's Were Right After All". Our dreams, our visions now being touted as the Green Economy, Al Gore winning a Nobel Peace prize about something we had written poems about decades before, but then let's not forget he invented the internet too. Who knows, maybe he is one of us, and old stoner that learned how to fit in...if you think about it, Tipper looks like she's rolled a few, spent a few nights sitting around the campfire joined in song as someone played a guitar or shook a tambourine. "Hey Mr. Tambourine Man play a song for me"...losing track of the lyrics we'd end up singing about Mr. Bo Jangles and slide right into a rousing rendition of Arlo Guthrie's, "City of New Orleans" that was originally done by Steve Goodman.

40 years after I smoked my first joint, rolled up a big old dubbie and took a puff people are still being imprisoned for smoking and selling pot, a whole generation shamed into keeping their stories of youth hidden away. Legalize the stuff and get over yourselves already. Is there anyone that really believes smoking pot is any different than sitting around in some bar slamming down Martini's with exotic names at ten dollars a piece and then getting in your car to go home and take care of the kids...can any one spell H Y P O C R I T E ? The more life changes the more it stays the same, close friends suggesting maybe I should cut my hair and dress my age. Here's a clue, throw away your cell phones, and stop buying your children games that teach them to kill, instill in them a belief that human life is expendable. PEACE MAN, and KEEP THE FAITH.

Hillary Clinton's book, "It Takes A Village" was met with rave reviews, yet our attempts at communal living were always shut down, usually with the police using some level of force to chase us off our land and out of town. We grew up, got older, and many of our numbers headed in a different direction becoming the Yuppies that drove the 80's and 90's generation of self satisfaction and loathing, giving birth to children they could put on Ritalin to keep them from being who they are.

Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and Roy Orbison teaching us about love gone bad. As the Vietnam War was ending, stars like the O Jay's began to change and the times changed with them. The lost generation, yet we have been here all along. We are the grassroots that has been there quietly preaching our message, taking up causes that no one else had time for, or chose to ignore. We were the dream walkers to stubborn to walk away. Indigo children, hippy freaks, tree hugging fools...pick your label, we've been them all and a few that have yet to be named. We are the elders without the respect, we are the wise men (and women) still walking out in the desert searching for the blind man, or perhaps the fool on the hill who sees the sun coming up. In 1969 we had Apollo landing on the moon, and now with it almost 2009 we have a long haired Billionaire, one Lord Branson flying his Virgin Airlines, with plans to run the world's first commercial space flight service...any one want to bet that man has done a bong hit or two? Feel right now like someone should put on Tubular Bells...not the side with the theme song from the Exorcist on it, but side two...GOD, I miss my LP's. Album covers were works of art, the albums themselves handled with reverence, ever vigilant that one scratch could ruin your favorite song. The IPOD is a wondrous magic box, but have to wonder if it is not marginalizing music, devaluing the experience and sharing in joining together for a night of song. There is no protocol with an IPOD, no chance for romance, the stolen kiss you find in going through your wooden fruit boxes, pulling out some of your favorite Vinyl's from so long ago, admiring the covers, recalling a concert from the days of your youth.

Sleeze bucket John McCain in a feeble attempt to look Presidential instead of just plain OLD is taking two of his geezer supporters (including turncoat LIEberman)and going to Iraq to burnish his CREDENTIALS...that would be fine if he were using his own funds for said trip. Instead the massive cost of this campaign trip will be picked up by the American taxpayer. This image polishing trip as McCain tries to make himself look more Presidential, plugged in on the WORLD STAGE seems off message for a man that tries to present himself as the Sheriff of Pork Barrel spending. WE could compare this to Elliot Spitzer's No Ho Fall from grace in New York. If you are going to put yourself up above the fray, portray yourself as the Sheriff of Pork Barrel politics, then you take these kinds of trips AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE. At least Spitzer paid for his whores. As for LIEberman, it is time that the Democrats disown the old wind bag.

Seems the dirt on the Beltway leads us to believe that John McCain is interested in having President Bush far more involved in his campaign than acting solely as Fund Raiser and Chief. Laurel and George W. Bush using the Lincoln Bedroom as a check generating machine is an unsavory enough image. McCain bringing over to his campaign Bush’s team of Hooligans though is a rabid dog of a different color.

Ken Mehlman is now acting as an UNPAID outside advisor to the McCain campaign, at least until the war chest gets a few more pieces of Gold. Mehlman probably feels right at home with former Bush Pit Bull, Steve Schmidt, George’s personal attack dog, and media propagandist (Bush preferred the term media strategist) Mark McKinnon. Rounding out McCain’s top four on this political Team of Terror if everything unfolds right is the evil master mind himself, Karl Rove.

Seems that Bush’s right hand man, his brain for most of his Presidency recently made a donation to the John McCain cause, throwing his chips onto the Republican table, signaling he wants in the game. Very soon after the donation check cleared the bank, Rove had a lengthy conversation with Senator McCain. Shortly after McCain’s meeting with the Dark Lord, one of McCain’s top advisors put the word out on the street that both Melhman and Rove were officially, but informally advising the McCain Campaign on important strategic issues…in his usual secretive fashion, Rove has refused to provide any details about his meeting with Senator McCain. Suppose that is the norm for Blood Oaths?

The list of Bush operatives looking to align themselves with McCain, get in line for big salaries or positions in his administration is growing with each passing hour. The buzz has former top aide to the President Dan Bartlett and political adviser Sara Taylor letting the McCain camp known they are willing to swear fealty to John and Cindy McCain. Taylor has gone so far as to state, “The Bush Republicans here in town are excited for John McCain.”

Couple these fast breaking developments with McCain’s mimicking of George W Bush’s party line on the Iraq War, his identical ignorance yet love of nuclear energy, and one quickly understands why people in the know are referring to the Republican Nominations campaign as the McSame Express. Perhaps these Bush politicos coming in from the cold explains McCain’s refusal to rebuke the President’s Veto of a bill that would have outlawed torture?

Even many Republicans now view Bush as the worst President to ever hold office. His political team moving into McCain’s Campaign Headquarters seems to add more credence to Democratic claims that electing John McCain as our next President would amount to an extension by proxy of the George W. Bush Presidency and with it his failed policies. Former Bush insider and 2004 chief strategist Matt Dowd is even sounding the alarm to any Republican that will listen, warning that McCain’s almost identical position on Iraq, his hiring of some of the most despised members of the Bush team is not going to sit well with the public…but then, when has Bush or his staff ever given any real credence to public sentiments? Perhaps because he has distanced himself from the Bush team, Dowd’s concerns have been quickly dismissed by McCain advisors.

Another key McCain advisor on the condition of anonymity stated John McCain’s biggest task right now is to solidify the base, bring into McCain’s camp all those Republicans who still loyally support and approve of President Bush. Perhaps this explains McCain’s desire to bring in Bush’s SS and Gestapo Field Officers? The Time to get out the big stick and knock a few heads to get the Religious Right and Conservative Ranks in proper step has arrived? Continuing on failed war, economic and foreign policies is a small price to pay if the Bush Doctrine is preserved and carried forward for another eight years?

The McSame strategy is simple…put enough key Bushites in position to appease George W. Bush’s army of rabid right wing conservatives and evangelicals, then as the McSame Express moves into the fall election, prop McCain up as his own man and hope it fools the American Public, even if that means playing cat and mouse by having some of these Bush Puppet Masters operating outside the public view, away from the press. George W. Bush fooled the nation twice, surely we are not so foolish as to be fooled a third time? Are we?

Have just finished cruising the world of the bloggosphere, and it seems the opposition to McCain is mounting on all sides as he angers everyone from Boeing Employees, Iraq War Vets, to every voter in his silence on the George W. Bush veto of the bill that would have banned torture.

Over on AP My Way you can read about the Boeing workers targeting McCain after a huge contract was given to (of all people)the parent company of the French Air Bus...and the French helped us how in Iraq?

WASHINGTON (AP) - Angry Boeing supporters are vowing revenge against Republican presidential candidate John McCain over Chicago-based Boeing's loss of a $35 billion Air Force tanker contract to the parent company of European plane maker Airbus.
There are other targets for their ire - the Air Force, the defense secretary and even the entire Bush administration.

But Boeing supporters in Congress are directing their wrath at McCain, the Arizona senator and nominee in waiting, for scuttling an earlier deal that would have let Boeing build the next generation of Air Force refueling tankers. Boeing now will miss out on a deal that it says would have supported 44,000 new and existing jobs at the company and suppliers in 40 states.

"I hope the voters of this state remember what John McCain has done to them and their jobs," said Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., whose state would have been home to the tanker program and gained about 9,000 jobs.

Over on the Unpartisan Blog, seems at least one Iraq War Vet is against McCain's desire to follow the Bush War doctrine, is speaking out against leaving our troops in Iraq for the next 100 years.

Speaking on behalf of the Democratic Party, an Iraq combat veteran said Saturday that apparent GOP nominee John McCain should not win the presidential election because he would continue the war in Iraq while ignoring other threats.

Lastly, found a great article over on Amerinz on George Bush's veto of the bill that would have outlawed torture...the BIG QUESTION...where is McCain in rebuking Bush for this callous and Un-American action, why isn't he leading the Republican Charge in seeking a Congressional over-ride of the veto. He should be on every Sunday morning news program in America, but he will not be. The great American War Hawk suddenly looks like a DoDo bird.

Stand up to Bush and torture

Over the weekend, George Bush vetoed a bill that would have banned the use of torture by the CIA. He claimed that use of torture had prevented terrorist attacks, and that presidents should have torture as an option. Congress must override that veto.

The Bush-Cheney regime has major credibility problems on this issue. They’ve long claimed that the US doesn’t use torture, but that denial is based on their legal team having re-defined the word in a way that would give the Bush-Cheney regime legal cover in the event any of them were prosecuted for authorising torture—in direct violation of US law and international treaties. The record shows that they’ve authorised torture in the past, and probably still do; they just don’t call it that.

Should McCain’s Age and Health Issues Disqualify Him from Presidency?

Though it was not made official until after he’d left office, Ronald Reagan was already suffering from Alzheimer’s in his last years in office, his memory already beginning to fail him. If John McCain were to be elected President in the 2008 Presidential Election, he would be the oldest man to ever be sworn in as the President of the United States at 72 years of age. Despite dragging his 91 year old mother out at campaign appearances, his false assurances that he has the stamina and drive of men 20 years his junior, it seems prudent to ask the question, “Is John McCain’s age, coupled with his known health issues enough to disqualify him as President of the United States?”

Age should not be a disqualifier, but John McCain has other serious health issues, such as his repeated cancer scares, and serious physical limitations as a result of injuries he suffered as a Prisoner of War during the Vietnam Conflict.

He cannot comb his own hair.
On Bad days he needs the help of staff to put on his pants.

These are facts that have made their way into the public arena, been printed or reported by various news sources. What other physical limitations does McCain have that his wife, family, staff and peers have successfully kept secret, away from prying eyes?

We have all joked about Cheney’s weak heart, some even wishing it would give up the ghost, but off color humor aside, Dick Cheney’s age, his own personal health issues were and are a primary contributor to his decision not to run for President. John McCain’s stubbornness, his determination to realize his dreams have seen him dismiss any questions about his health, to give it and his age no weight in his decision to run for the highest office in the land…we as citizens though should not be so short sighted in weighing those two important issues.

Lest we forget, if George W Bush’s health had failed, if he had died in office, we would have been faced with the cold disturbing reality that Dick Cheney was now the President of the United States. Who will McCain name as his Vice President, and are we as a nation prepared to accept that man as our leader should McCain’s cancer return, if his health issues worsen to a point where he can no longer carry out the duties of the office of President of the United States. Are we as a nation prepared to take that risk?

McCain’s Humor Sign of Sick Mind?

In addition to being a man known to have a bad temper (as witnessed in his verbal attack on a reporter today), McCain at times has shown a insensitive even harshly inappropriate sense of humor that perhaps hints at a twisted sick mind. There are statements that should not be made, jokes that should not be told, and McCain seems mentally incapable of knowing where that line is. The title of an AP story back in 2007 perhaps illustrates this reality best, “McCain’s WMD is a Mouth That Won’t Quit”. McCain’s inability to control his mouth over the years, his terminal case of “Foot in Mouth” disease constantly sees him in trouble, digging out from ill timed or wrongfully delivered remarks and jokes. Can we as a nation afford a President that has a long term track record of inappropriate remarks?

Some of McCain’s errors are enormous in scope, show a serious lack of judgment, a judgment we as citizens are going to count on if he becomes President of the United States.

In his 1986 Senatorial campaign he thought it was funny to refer to the Leisure World retirement community as Seizure World. He compounded the error by not understanding the offense taken at his joke, refusing to issue an immediate apology.

At a 1998 fund raising event he made a very off color joke about then President Bill Clinton’s daughter. “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” Keep in mind, that in 1998, Chelsea Clinton was a seventeen year old kid, supposedly off limits to such atrocious and distasteful ramblings by a politician out of control, maybe even boozed up. After the fact, McCain did manage to deliver an apology to Bill Clinton, but there is no record of a similar apology offered up to either of the two women involved, Chelsea Clinton and Janet Reno.

At a 2007 Campaign Stop at a VFW Post in South Carolina when asked about delivering an air mail message to Iran, McCain leapt into song singing, “bomb Iran” a tune by the Valiants from 1980…when questioned about the appropriateness of the remark, McCain quipped, “Lighten up and get a life.”

When a fellow Senator told McCain his remarks were out of line, McCain snapped back, “F—K You.” Not the kind of decorum we should accept in our elected officials.

In February of this year when questioned about change in Cuba McCain stated, “Change will not come in Cuba until Fidel Castro is dead.” He then went further to state, “I hope he has the opportunity to meet Karl Marx very soon.” Such straight talk might be fine at home drinking Cindy’s Budweiser beer, but is out of line in public questioning coming out of the mouth of an elected Senator dreaming of being President of the United States.

Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal, certain behaviors are unacceptable in our public officials. McCain seems to excel at overstepping these lines of propriety at every turn in the road. How many of his character flaws can we afford to over look when we make our decision in November, pick our next president?

If you are looking for a knock down drag out fight, Hothead John McCain has a reputation as being your man. John McCain is good at losing his temper, and seems to enjoy it. If you are looking for a nasty cantankerous brute, a cloakroom bully ready to take on all comers, Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain is your man. When queried about his temper, he quickly states it is not a problem, that he has it under control…sure, just like his darling wife Cindy who admits to keeping a Grudge List?

John McCain’s antics are famous on Capital Hill, his habit of bursting from the cloakroom in a fit of rage onto the Senate Floor, his puffy face beat red, ripping off his glasses as he looks for a table to beat on, sees those in the know simply shaking their heads at the temper tantrum, knowing Senator Hothead is at it again, angry as usual. We can almost imagine this angry little chipmunk, his beady eyes seething anger as he loudly chatters away at anyone close enough to feel his wrath.

Congressional Correspondents if queried will shrug their shoulders, sheepishly admit that’s just Senator McCain, reluctantly admit that he has a habit of blowing up, losing his temper on a regular basis, somewhat like Old Faithful. Recently on the, “Larry King” show former Presidential Candidate and Senator, Bob Dole admitted that John McCain has a tempter, went so far as to say he attributed the temper to his having spent so much time locked in a cage as a Prisoner of War back in the Vietnam War.

In the respected corridors of the United States Senate where polite debate is supposed to be the rule of the land, McCain has never had trouble finding a fight. The least little perceived infraction, any one crossing one of his lines in the sand an McCain is off on another warpath, confronting those who made the mistake of crossing his path, daring to disagree with his positions on the issues.

Carl Smith a former pilot who flew with McCain has been quoted as saying, “McCain doesn’t tolerate what he thinks is wrong” and then went on further to state, “He’ll HAMMER you.” In short, McCain, the son of an opinionated, cigar chomping Naval Officer, the Republican candidate for the highest office in the land stands firm in what he believes in, and has a very difficult time keeping his anger in check. If you want to see him blow a gasket, start asking him questions about the Keating Five and his illegal involvements in trying to derail the investigation and you’ll see that vein of his starting to throb.

John McCain’s famous temper should have Republicans praying that the man can keep himself and his anger under control during the upcoming Presidential Campaign season. More importantly, all Americans need to ask themselves seriously if they are prepared to give a declared War Hawk with a temper the secret codes to America’s nuclear arsenal by electing him as our next president.

So, it is official that John McCain is the Republican Family Values Party candidate to vie for the position of President of the United States, his wife Cindy slated to be America’s First Lady should he be successful in his quest. That reality requires Americans to make an informed decision, have a handle on just who they are voting for, and who they are making the first lady of the United States of America. A cursory examination of some of the personal history of John McCain, a look into the family history of Cindy McCain and one is left scratching their head and asking, “What family values?”

Cindy and John met each other, began slipping between the sheets back in 1979 while John McCain was still married to his first wife Carol. For years this new darling couple in Republican circles was haunted by rumors of an unsavory nature. It is irrefutable that John McCain was still married when he first had sexual relations with, had and affair with Cindy McCain who is eighteen years his junior. It is further known that he left his first wife who had become a cripple in a car accident for the young heiress to a beer distributorship fortune…in short, the perfect Trophy Wife scenario, a torrid love affair between a young nubile socialite and a much older man, a decorated war hero, a up and coming politico.

What is odd, is Cindy has something in common with the Kennedy family…seems her father, the pillar of society has a very checkered past, made his living and his fortune bootlegging liquor…anything to make and honest living? Some are still trying to figure out how a convicted felon ended up owning a Budweiser Distributorship, but that is a story that will never be fully told since most of the records have conveniently been destroyed, leaving us only speculation and a few criminal records to base our opinions on.

Perhaps wanting to follow in the footsteps of Betty Ford, Cindy McCain has faced her own demons, being a drug addict for several years, having a penchant for the pain pills which she was STEALING from a charity she had founded. It must be nice to have your own charity to steal drugs from. When authorities began investigating some serious gaps in the charities drug inventory records, poor misunderstood rich girl Cindy called her husband, Senator John McCain, in tears admitting her mistakes. Conveniently, a few phone calls were made, some discussions were had and the charges were dropped…justice in the world of the rich and elite, the criminal court system when you are married to a United States Senator?

Cindy McCain, a millionaire heiress, a former rodeo beauty queen (tiara anyone?) is known to have a serious temper, has even admitted to keeping a GRUDGE LIST. Just what America needs in a First Lady, Daddy’s past her prime spoiled princess, a battle axe old shrew fond of holding grudges, looking at every opportunity to settle the score living at the most prestigious address in the world.

When we elect someone to office, we in many ways are electing a couple who will represent our interests and nation around the world…is Cindy McCain really First Lady material? Are the McCain’s the best the Republicans can do in putting forth a candidate that represents their supposed Family Values platform?

Bush Told Me Iraq War Was a Winner!

My friends, I will not abandon Iraq, will not bring our troops home without victory, and you have my word on that. Sure we have made some mistakes, but that is ancient history, and I will not discuss the past, we need to talk about the future, talk about the success waiting for us out there somewhere on the horizon just out of sight.

History will show us that George W. Bush was one of the best Presidents America has ever had, will show us he was on target in invading Iraq, in using false evidence to sell our nation on the concept of war. He knew there were no weapons of mass destruction, but that should not matter, as we are safer now than before we invaded Iraq, terrorist attacks are down around the world, and we have not been attacked on our own soil since September 11, 2001.

We must "Stay The Course" until "Mission Accomplished" is a goal realized, a reality attained. Electing me as your next President will assure our continued troop presense in Iraq for decades to come as that young Democracy takes the needed steps necessary to be our friend, and my friends, that is what is at state in this election. If you put a Democrat in the White House, they will bring our troops home, we will no longer be spending a billion dollars a day in Iraq, our fine young fighting troops will no longer be dying and maimed in some far off desert half a world away, and that reality would be wrong for America.
