
A lot of people are saying McCain showed a lot of guts today when he apologized for not supporting a National Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, apologizing for showing poor judgement all those years ago. Perhaps the apology might have gone over a lot better if he had not had a black man holding his umbrella during the apology? This one ranks right up there with his March Tar Baby remark, and shows a certain racial insensitivity on the part of McCain, but then is that surprising? It was not a Macaca moment, but as close to one as you can get without being labeled a racist.
